Grenada

Grenada is renowned for its gorgeous environment- and understandably so. This lush island is decorated with coastal mangrove plantations, immaculately white beaches and thriving rain forests, all of which are decked below a striking volcanic landscape.

This small nation of just 93,000 consists of three small islands Grenada, Carriacou and Petit Martinique- all of which provide tourists with some of the best beaches and coral reefs in the Caribbean. The island has become a popular tourist spot of late- but it has held on to its culture and open attitude in light of its yearly visitors.

These beaches and coral reefs are perfect for snorkelling and scuba-diving so make sure to grab some flippers and splash around for a while.

Nothing is too commercial on the islands of Grenada. There are plenty of shops, strips and markets- but don’t expect high-street shopping malls decked out in designer labels. Grenada is a touch more individual. Ideal buys over here are screen printed textiles and locally made handicrafts. You’ll find some really nice leather goods- including bags and purses that you’ll be just as comfortable donning at home as you would be in Grenada.

Food wise the Grenadians are very much into their seasoning. So, whether it be sweet cinnamon or sizzling spices- expect a lot of flavour in the local dishes. Music is a giant element of life in Grenada and you’ll spot plenty of Calypso dancers playing homage to their African roots throughout the sunny evenings while you dine out.

The nightlife here is pretty laid back. There’s plenty of room for you to unwind and have a good time but clubbing culture would not be a big feature on this island, you definitely won’t find klaxons and strobe lights! Expect more live music, and cool, airy bars where you can have a dance and a conversation into the early hours.

These unspoiled beaches and crystal clear waters are perfect for watersports and the Grenadians really push the boat out in terms of beach services and entertainment. Expect to find plenty of parasailers, jet skis, banana boats and other fast, fun and wet amusements.

Deep- Sea Fishing
Grenada has long been acclaimed for its serene waters perfect for fishing. There are annual Spice Island Game Fishing Tournaments that attract professional fishers to the shores every year. Amateur fishing enthusiasts are not left out of the picture however with many charter companies offering day trips to the best areas.

Golf
Golf is a great way to enjoy the good weather in Grenada, and the nine-hole course and country club located at Grand Anse is the perfect place to perfect your swing and soak up the sun at the same time.
